Schools" program begins its second year. The Big
Night
Out committee is in full swing planning "Jazz, Juice
and Jive" for November 20th. In addition our Annual
Campaign is underway. We appreciate your prompt
response to our letter requesting your gift for our
children.
Your support is what allows us to offer our programs
and services at no charge to the community. We
thank you for all that you contribute to our success.
On behalf of the officers, board and staff members of
our agency, we wish all those celebrating Rosh
Hashanah a Happy New Year and our hearts go out

| Group Activities Delight Littles |
 |
On Sunday, July 31st, "Bigs" and "Littles" spent a
warm, sunny afternoon cruising down the Ohio River
on BBRiverboat's "River Queen". Besides viewing the
incredible Ohio and Kentucky scenery, everyone
enjoyed the magical tricks of the Amazing Cindini,
played board games, and had a scavenger hunt while
munching on snacks and sipping sodas. In addition to
the activities on board, every child received a
t-shirt,
canvas tote and a toy gift. The annual boat ride and
gifts are made possible through the generosity of
an anonymous donor. Click on the photo above for
more photos of the boat ride.
Our annual Fishing Event and Picnic held on August
28th was a "reel" success. The late summer
afternoon provided opportunities for fishing (with
lessons for those who desired), picnicing and
participating in other outdoor activities. Fun was
the "catch
of the day"! Many thanks to the
Weiss family for hosting us at their home. Click below
to see pictures of the fishing event.

| Hurricane Katrina |
 |
Big Brothers Big Sisters serves children in need every
hour and every day of the year. We are now moving
swiftly to serve the children affected by Hurricane
Katrina among those whom we serve. We also are
reaching out to staff, board members, "Bigs", "Littles"
and parents who are part of our BBBS family across
the nation and do everything we can to support
them.
Locally, Big Brothers/Big Sisters is prepared to assist
any families that have been displaced by Katrina. We
are offering Big/Little matchings to children who may
need extra care and attention as their family faces
this crisis.
Nationally, Big Brothers Big Sisters of America
(BBBSA) has established a BBBS Katrina Kids Fund.
BBBSA is now pledging a minimum of $500,000 to this
fund to support agencies in the areas directly hit by
the hurricane and to those agencies providing
services to large numbers of displaced children. This
amount will not be sufficient. We ask for your help.
We are asking individuals to contribute
by going to a Special Donation Page.
We are grateful for your help as we assist those
stunned by this disaster.

former classmates, will be used for Big Brothers/Big
Sisters to provide services to students at Yavneh

and thank Daniel's classmates for this tribute.

| Give the Gift of Friendship |

A relationship between a "Big" and
a "Little" contributes to better schools, brighter
futures and stronger communites by building
character, fostering respect and promoting kindness.
We are counting on your gift of friendship to help us
meet our $40,000 goal! To donate online, click here, scroll down and click on the
